 “A Look through the Tube”

Architectural Designs for Applications of Conduit

Plumbing and its history, it has been said that between 3000-1500 B.C., our so-called founding plumbers had discovered systems of water retrieval; this also introduced the removal of waste from the ground for drainage. This eventually led to the use of terra-cotta pipes, from four-inch-to 6 inches in diameter. That also led to the more modern sanitary housing waste system, this was a new standard in rain and waste disposal. This was not always successful; most of the earliest designs would flow back into the household and not the destination of the nearest river or stream. This is one of the oldest forms of drainage, in some locations it is still used, but this method is very inefficient and harmful to the environment. (The history of plumbing)

In European countries around the years, 1600’s lawmakers passed guidelines to include public wastewater services, known as aqueducts. One of the original known forms of water transport was built out of masonry in 1691 B.C. this aqueduct was 50 miles long were 80 km and was as wide as most main four-lane highways of today. No other form of water transport had reached that magnitude until the Roman period.

The Roman aqueducts are the most famous and were the brightest of these in the interesting world. More than 200 of them were built, and many are still in use and seen in countries of Spain France, and North America, as well as Italy. (Hub pages)

In the modern eras of today, became popular with the use of copper tube plumbing, elaborates on the following; from the beginnings of the modern time copper has been in use because of its properties, it is light strong and durable long-lasting, but still has some disadvantages it can become oxidized and corroded. There is no flexibility, and the joints of copper is somewhat a skilled process, this is known as soldering for joints per elbows is known as splitting the pipe. This is when you join a fitting to the tube in either lengthening the pipe or making a joint for a 90° elbow or 45° elbow, which involves a torch flux and solder. Soldering joints, with capillary fittings, are used in plumbing for water lines.

Nowadays, copper pipe for plumbing is used for heating and air-conditioning industries, readily available fitting services for every design application. Joints are simple, reliable, and economical to reproduce. The handbooks on codes for Pennsylvania examples say that you should not use copper in modern applications, because most people have to cut through floors joints to run the plumbing. It also talks about the pressure of PS I did copper builds during the system can be dangerous. The commonest advantages of copper plumbing are freezing of line breaking when exposed to cold temperatures. If water freezes in line, it will expand the pipe and it will bust. This led to the introduction of plastic tubing it is not prone to breakage as much because it gives and has more flexibility.

PEX or crossed linked polyethylene elaborates on the following; PEX is a polyethylene to product this material is more durable under extreme temperatures, chemical attacks, and is better you formation, PEX is an excellent material for hot water and other applications. PEX was established in the 1960s. The advantages of PEX is its ability and plasticity and its strength at temperatures ranging from below zero up to 200°F, this makes it ideal for plumbing material for its hot and cold weather fluctuation. PEX tubing has been in many of your PM countries for plumbing and radiant heat. It has become popular in the United States for mainline use in housing. PEX was introduced in the 1980s and had very significant growth in the market. PEX saves money and in many ways, where the installer PEX tubing is practically priced over its competitor copper. Installation of a flexible system is faster because it is easier to use a tube that is flexible and bending rather than using joints and soldering does not take the skill needed that one would have to have a soldering a pipe. Therefore you do not need the training that it would take which means a more economical outcome. PEX systems are tested to and come be used with standard T and P retrieval files that will operate at 210°F and 150 PSI PEX systems are sized just like other CTS plumbing material such as copper or see CPVC when used in a tank or branch introduction. PEX can be sized and modified in many different systems to meet the specific demands and dimensions of the installer to help best-fit fixtures and other specified applications. PEX has some disadvantages like copper that should be known and aware it cannot be used outdoors cannot be recycled due to a shorter life use this product may become brittle and crack, which leads to total failure. (PEX cross-linked polyethylene network)

PVC or CPVC pipe is made from plastic and the final combination material. The plastics are adorable, hard to damage, and long-lasting. A PVC pipe does not rust, rot, or whether overtime. For many reasons, PVC plumbing is the most commonly used water waste system and underground lines. For this reason, it has many advantages that weigh less than cast iron or terra-cotta it does not need replacing as often and is prone to breakage, unlike its competitors. It is less expensive and easier to install and does not take the skill level that joining the others would need to have. The disadvantages are environmental hazards according to survey calf; PVC pipe contains traces of compounds that are harmful to the environment. Solvents in using joining methods of PVC, fittings contain VOC’s (volatile organic compounds) and is not biodegradable. (Hengxing group e-how) In any process of plumbing, there are always advantages and disadvantages of each system. It is depending on the cost and the applications in which one the installer wants to use. As we move forward into modern establishment more products, are established.

How to create a designer room, First of all, you have to have a plan. Like with anything you go to do you need to have a guideline on what you want to create. First off you have to have a room depending on the type of room changes the composition of what you will create. So for example a living room, the concept you would start first with a rendering. What is rendering? A rendering is a drawing or a sketch of what a room would look like when completed it is a visualization porthole of what is to be. In this sketch generally, you start with a pencil. A pencil guideline of furniture composition and layout, generally you have for compositions in which one creates for a room layout or design. What is a thumbnail sketch? A thumbnail sketch is rough renderings of compositions or ideas. This is pre-brainstorming before having a finalized composition. Once you select your final thumbnail sketch you want to redesign your sketch into a rough rendering generally on an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper.

Now you want to think about colors and textures lighting and shadow in a drawing. You want to select fabric choices furniture and other items that you would place into the design. Because furniture and texture have a lot to do with the overall feel and style the designer is going for. Whether it be modern or traditional eclectic etc. once you have chosen a style and you know your clients’ desires you can move forward with yet again a final rendering. In this final rendering, you will have the colors shown as realistic as possible as a vision of what to expect with the completed room.

As we evolve into the technology a designer might use digital media software in creating their compositions to give a 3-D view of what to expect in their room that will be completed in the project. What is 3-D? 3-D stands for three-dimensional viewing. In breaking this down more three-dimensional is a term that is used for objects that look or appear to have depth and perspective is the lines at which things are created everything goes into a vanishing point. Whether being one point or 2, points, and 3 points.  All angles go back to a vanishing area. This is what gives depth and dimension to a composition.  Using 3-D software you can give a realistic view and walk-through tutorial to your client on what their future room will look like.

The next process in completing a design would be a slideshow of the concept into which you want to show your clients. This will include a sample board with all textures, fabrics, features, and elements that you want to be presented in the room. After you have your client’s approval you will move forward into the next processes. In these processes, you will begin measurements for features like furniture and other elements depending on the room you will select elements accordingly. Also, you have to keep in mind the size of the room and how big your accents will be you have to think about scale. You have to take your model that is at a smaller scale and think about how to make that into a realistic understanding.

Another factor is budget you do not want to go over the budget in which the client is giving you so you have to plan around the monies that you have available to you. So in this process, you have to pick fabrics textures tones colors, etc. in a way that will be of benefit to you the designer that looks high-end and yet also does not go over your financial plan.

Now the fun can begin and you have a plan it is time to start laying out your room. In this process you might need to hire contractors and have plans approved by an architect if major changes are needed such as structural the one thing that most people don't realize is that an interior designer does not have the same degrees as an architectural civil CAD designer thus meaning they do not have the rights to change structure because of codes. What are the codes? Codes are specific state and government regulations in which one has to follow when doing electrical plumbing and structural redesigns of a home or dwelling. An interior designer's job consists of filling out a shell of a space that has not been completed yet or a remodel of a space that has been completed that is just being updated. Generally, they have to have approval from an architect that has a degree in the field of engineering and physics. So a designer may have to work around structures such as pillars and electrical and plumbing. The job of the interior designer is to add lipstick and mascara to the overall arrangement of a room. “We are the ones to make it look good”.

Now that you have your layout complete in your room finished you want to have a walk-through with your clients and hopefully all goes well and they like your composition in your arrangement that you have completed. And hopefully, you have come in under budget and your clients are pleased with the overall design. If not satisfied you should as a designer do as much as possible to please the clients that you have been working for or with.

Depending on the type or room, like I said you have to think about budget and furnishings. If creating a design for a bathroom that is a different task in-general; because when you're designing a bathroom you have to think of textures and elements that would work for that room.

The same can be applied to the kitchen layout. Now you have to start thinking about cabinetry appliances etc.  With that said you have to reflect on those codes. You cannot move certain things that were set and specific guidelines by an architect you have to work around them and design to adapt to what has already been created. By that person, as stated in the previous paragraph, an interior designer just has the job of beautifying a room to makes it more appealing for a customer or client. So with this said this is my report on how to design a room. I hope you enjoy it. I’m looking forward to your comments, questions and concerns thank you.

“Stereotypes of a High School Teenager”

All those days that students have to sit in a hell-hole known as high school, where the only freedom is the color of their socks; feeling like uniformed little robots.  They have to sit and do as they are told while being isolated in a closet that they call a classroom.  Having to listen to all the mindlessness; and nonsense that will not have any purpose in life. Whoever said that being in high school was supposed to be the greatest years of one’s life is dead wrong.  They have their ranking and place in society for everyone, for example, Preps, Jocks, and Nerds.

A preppy girl group consists of shaking their butt along with pom-poms. They do not time for anything but their superficial lifestyle. They only care about what status update they are getting on their social networking or cell phone. What couples are being formed, they only care about the new trends. They like to makes themselves feel superior to those who feel inferior to them. They only care about their little world. They cannot see what is going on beyond the boundaries that they have created for themselves. They are programmed to be stuck up snobs. Societies praise them for doing so. They feel that no other group will ever come up to their standards.

These boys called Jocks are a group of guys who have no life other than sports. They care about developing new relationships for only one night. They do not have to worry about their schooling because they know that they will get sports scholarships to some major university. Just like the prep, do not care about anybody but themselves. They generally pick on this next category, known as the nerds, to make themselves feel superior to the ones why feel inferior. Harassment is a part of life for jocks. Bullying innocent lives makes them feel as if there undefeatable.

Nards are said and pathetic creatures who are very misunderstood to all that are part of their soundings. Though no fault of their own most of the time it is just the way they are.  Their life consists of talking about nothing but computers and video games, in addition to wondering why no girls want to date them. The other categories do not have an understanding of intelligence as they do, so they just class them as “uncool” there are considered irrelevant to them because there immature minded.  Most of the time this group is in the background they just let the rest of the world goes by. Their intelligent ways of thoughts will not be recognized in high school establishments.

The rejected category is somewhat problematic for most teenagers. Mainly because they do not fit in any of the groups listed above. They are in total and complete isolation from those who are around them. Generally, these types of teenagers are shy and timid. They do not like to make any pronounced movement that will bring unwanted attention to them. They want to stay in the background, but yet are standout to all who are around them. They are worried constantly because they do not fit in any of the categories above. They do not have any feelings of compassion from those around them. They do not know what it is truly like to be desired. They feel as if they are in total isolation even though they are around people. They look for reconciliation they cannot find it anywhere in their establishment. So they drift through life in the hopes of blissfulness.

Is society choosing not to understand what is going on around them? It could be that they are just blind and oblivious to the fact that children are being categorized.  That has negative influences and impacts on their lives. Is this just human nature that they do not help others?  They all want to blame the media? However is it there parenting that is in question, should they be the one to blame?  Maybe it is just part of the experience of being a high school teenager, either way, changes need to be made. Should they isolate themselves from the freedoms and activates?  Do teens get harassed with the higher authority doing nothing to stop it?  While blood falling to the floor, the higher authorities ask a question like “What did you do?”  instead of finding the fact of the matter of what happened?  They do not console the persons that are abuse?  It should matter what the person did or did not do. How do they know truthfully that someone is being stereotyped or bullied? How do they know if somebody cares? These questions are something that needs to be understood by future generations of high school students.

“The Man Who Was Ahead of His Time”

“Give me the luxuries of life and I will willingly do without the necessity.” A man who lived that exact lifestyle; Frank Lloyd Wright, born in Richland Center Wisconsin on June 8, 1887, was an architect who preferred form and function over necessity. His famous works proved his style of clean and contemporary lines. Wright is one of those founders of modern architecture in North America; Frank Lloyd Wright established the use of new technologies, materials, and engineering to create some of the 20th century's most influential and iconic building designs.  Wright developed a language of architecture and interior design that did not look European but was more unique to the United States. As well as creating buildings that were radical in appearance, Wright had the rare ability to integrate theme with the landscape, stemming from his deep love and knowledge of nature. It was a gift with made him stand out from contemporary pioneers of modern architecture, such as Le Corbusier and Mies Van Rohe, and (Design Museum)

Frank Lloyd Wright was 100 years ahead of his time, with his creative mind and love of life. “His passion was to create something great “to achieve greatness he had to fight and struggle for what you wanted.” (Hurder). To achieve this satisfaction, Wright would spend long periods on what he felt most passionately about; drawing. What made this man so extraordinary, if you look at any of his designs drawings, or concepts, they reflect the design of modern times, for example, Falling Water is a house that was created many years ago, yet it looks as if it could have been designed in current times Frank Lloyd Wright-designed this house for his clients, the Kaufman family, and it was built between 1936 and 1939. Falling Water became an instant hit. Today, it is a national historical landmark. It is famous because it a house that does not appear to be standing on solid ground; rather instead, it is suspended over a 30-foot waterfall.  It captured everyone's imagination when it was on the cover of Times Magazine in 1938. When the Kaufman family first looked at Wright's design, they were not very pleased; they thought their new home would have a wonderful view overlooking the falls. However, his new plan for their home was to have the house on top of the falls, which made it very hard to even see them, but not so hard to hear them. Frank Lloyd Wright told them the quote I want him to live with the falls, to make them part of their everyday life. Wright only spent two hours plotting his Falling Water plan onto paper.

It was during the summer he spent on his uncle James Lloyd's Jones’ farm in Wisconsin that he first realized his dream of becoming an architect or designer. It was in 1887 while working for an architect named Joseph Lyman Silsbee, which Wright drafted and constructed his first building, known as “Unity Chapel” a groundbreaking design for the time. It was simple modern and inspirational. “There must be harmony between the land and the dwelling” Wright has a style that is all his own. He designs concepts with the horizontal plane; with no attics or basements mainly because he thought it was a waste of time, space, and money. He was the inventor of the flat roof. He liked to use materials and products that would not be harmful to the environment or the earth, which would not pollute the environment. We now know this as being “green”.  (Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation)

Frank Lloyd Wright was raised in a broken Victorian home. His original name was Franklin Lincoln Wright, which he later changed. When he was 12 years of age, Wright’s family settled in Michigan where he attended mission in high school; he never finished high school. He left Madison and just happened to gain the interest of a Dean of the University in Wisconsin in the engineering field. This team took Frank Lloyd Wright under his wing and taught him the origin of engineering and structural integrity. “Frank Lloyd Wright had what was considered a hit or miss education”. His first marriage produced six children and a house that is now a museum. During this time after the assassination of his family, he left the design world and lost contact with society for 10 years. Frank Lloyd Wright, like to live outside the moral code. He married three times, throughout the years of 1914 through 15, which many thought would put an end to his career, however, over the next 20 years. Wright's influence on architecture remains strong, producing more buildings in the United States that are very popular, but also in Europe as well. His dislike of urban establishment Wright developed a style of his creation; in 1955, Wright completed the design in Tokyo that was unlike anything anyone had seen at that time. He used natural materials and embraced the natural environment. Examples of his designs include the Larkin Company Administration Building in Buffalo New York, renamed Solomon R. Guggenheim. The Guggenheim Museum in New York is a gift of pure architecture that resembles sculpture. It is a continuous helix spiral, a circular ramp that expands as around space with a flat ribbon of the glass dome. To resemble animals, that would appear in nature the shell of a snail. (Matthews)

In 1938, Wright appeared on the cover of I times magazine and also the two-cent US stamp. He was noted as a remarkable architect, he became part of the elite society, but he did not allow the many events of his life to interfere with his love of over the top designs, if he worked on a design he did not stop until its completion.  Throughout his career, Wright designed over 500 buildings: homes, museums, office buildings, hotels, churches, and more. (director@wrightonthepark.org) “The longer I live, the more beautiful life becomes”. On April 10, 1959, Frank Lloyd Wright, said to be the greatest architect of the twentieth century, died in St. Joseph's Hospital, but his legacy will live on forever.

Hand Drawing versus Computer Aided Drafting and Design

Throughout this document, you will read two methods of creating artwork. After reading the document you will have decided, on which method that you would prefer and use. It is completely up to you in your opinion; and views on what you would like to do.

In hand drawing the artist starts with a plan in his or her head and imagines what their composition will be. During this process, they began brainstorming; as well as start sketching their illustration down onto a sheet of paper. To start building a sketch from that a vision in which one’s head. The next step would be to sketch out all the many shapes that will become the diagram. Afterward start adding layers, then darkening areas to bring out features that need to be emphasized. Depending on the type of illustration you're going for, and what medium you are using. Some artists like to add color to their work. This is all part of being in the creative process. After the sketch is completed they may want to go back and refine or critique what has been created. Some artists or designers like to do another finalized rendering.

In hand drawing, he or she has the freedom to put down on the paper whatever they want. They have total creativity on that canvas. If they can create and envision their expression they can express it onto that piece of paper. Unlike using a computer, where someone is generally using programs like Photoshop to create a design. Photoshop is a tool in which some graphic designers or interior designers use in creating renderings. Using this program you virtually have any means of creation available one could imagine. Versus hand drawing where there are limited that some people face in their abilities.

The computer-aided drafting and design program provides options and filters which one can apply to an overall design for its creation. What is also nice about using computer-aided drafting and design versus hand drawing is they have a do-over button, which will eliminate the one process that they put overdrawing. That is not available to them when hand drawing. Quote by Bob Ross “We do not make mistakes we have happy accidents” yes this is true to a certain extent, but is very difficult to erase target lines that will detract from an illustration. Using computers in the design field you have options where you can take extra lights out of a hand drawing if they uploaded it into a program such as Photoshop.

The artist could also draw by hand in a program like Photoshop using what is called a drawing tablet. A drawing tablet is a device in which one can use an electronic pen to draw onto the screen of a computer. It can be problematic in your beginning stages until you learn how to use the device. Unlike drawing, where one just uses a sheet of paper and a pencil, it is more basic and easier to apply methods of design.

Building a drawing using computer-aided drafting and design what they do is start with a blank electronic sheet of paper. Then they select what is called the layers of a button. Next, begin to draw your design. What is nice about this is you can add more layers unlike a sheet of paper and pen drawing or you do not have that option. In adding these letters you apply more textures tones colors and contrast in light and dark values. In doing these many stages and processes it adds the illusion of depth. In hand drawing the artist needs to have an understanding of perspective. He or she well achieved this, when they use what is called the grid system. The grid system in Photoshop is more of a hassle to the artist mainly because they do not have the option of using rollers like they would on drafting on paper. Also, a factor in handwriting is how much graphite to apply to make your light and dark contrast. As when you're using Photoshop, for example, all you need to do is push a button and it will determine light and dark contrast using different types of filters and layering. There are pros and cons to both methods of hand drawing and computer-aided drafting and design. Photoshop is easy, for some artists mainly because it gives them more ideas. And that is less overwhelming to them in the design or creation developments. With both methods, the artist has to always remember to enjoy the creative process, and no matter if it is a successful design or a total failure you're still being creative, this is what being creative is all about.

Comments made for assignment one week one

Hello; I have read through your submission, and it is a joy to get to know you. A read your post I look forward to working with you in this class on this journey of English composition, writing, and rhetoric. It should be an intriguing experience, to say the least. “Talk to you soon”

Good evening; it's nice to meet you. I look forward to experiencing this class with you. I have reviewed your post. And it was interesting to hear a little bit about your background. With that said I will talk to you shortly.

Journal entry

Throughout the week we've learned and discovered our newfound ability in using Microsoft Word to create documents for an English composition class. In these discoveries, I have learned and found out new techniques and ways to complete a writing document essay in the 1000 word expectation using MLA formatting. Completion of week one I have a newfound ability to create documents that would fit well into a professional way of writing. Also by having comments and questions concerns by educators will help me become a better author in the completion of writing tasks.

Children's Literature

Spring, 2011

What is Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder or ADHD, and how does it affect children's devilment. In this document I have organized information, children's book; that would will appeals' to their interest.

ADHD is familiar to most as a behavioral disorder; nine percent of United States children have some form of symptoms from this disorder. Accoutering to kids health.org they say that boys have three times more of a chance of having some form of the disorder than girls. Some of the common behaviors are being vocal, but without thought before speaking, acting out, or being hard to handle.

The first book that I reviewed was "Pay Attention Slosh" by Mark Smith the Illustrator is Gail Piazza,  The story in-tells about a boy named Joshua and the fact that he would not stay still. and when his mother would say behave he would just roll his eyes; and go on like nothing was said, and then Josh's mom and dad would yell and send him to his room, Josh did not see why that he was getting into so much trouble. he had issue whit everyday day things like forgetting to do homework and not brushing his teeth at night, his teacher thought that he was just a "lazy slacker" they did know what he has ADHD.

In class Josh thought that the day would never come to end, he wanted to get his work done, but there were just too many other things that he wanted to see and do. But in math class all his friend that thought it was awesome that he could do big math problems in his head, and his teacher said to see if you try you can do it, but whit his type of ADHD math just comes naturally.

Josh enjoyed being with his friend but he could not stand the noises that they made, so have a hard time making friends it was not something he found easy to do. A student called hem Slosh and the nickname stuck with hem, Josh hated that name, along with school. So one day his parents took him to a doctor. And the doctor said that some children have attention issues that are called ADHD. Now with what is need to help can do to be more successful and like to learn

This book is great for parents and kids because it shows just how far we have come with medication and help for thoughts that have ADHD.

The next book I chose is “Some Times I Drive my Mom Crazy, But I Know She’s Crazy About Me”, a book children’s for them to have more self-esteem by Lawrence E. Shapiro, Ph.D

Illustrated by Timothy Parrotte is a story about a young boy, that has ADHD and has a hard time paying attention “acts wild and crazy” he often gets into trouble at home and school. The boy likes to blame his disability on all though that know him.

In this book there are methods for a child with ADHD calm theme self-down for example “deep breathing and counting to ten slowly” and the child may become envious of others in his classes, so small class size and one on one teaching are most important with ADHD children. Like Josh in the book "Pay Attention Slosh," this boy as well diffracts with school “I, hate, HATE, school”. Yelling at the child is not going to work it just makes them more forested. As teachers and parents, you have to find out what works for the child’s own needs without isolating them they may need testing from a spaceless for a Photogallery extension to have a paper placement in classes.

‘I have learned more at Penn Highlands in Johnstown, in one semester then, I did in all of my Highschool Education and Elementary Education.’ -Marcel Ray Duriez

“Whom and what is a bystander?” Whom- being one, so one person- individual, onlooker, passerby, eyewitness, and spectator- what I think this is and what you are referring too; is someone that is looking over something or someone else, they may or may not want to see, doing one thing or another that, is witnessed. Is one person that may not know what to think about, doing in one moment, or another, or no what it is, that she or he would like to do for themselves, or the other person that they are gazing at- and at that given time. This comes down to a fear of what to do next, a reaction of sorts, “Whom and what is a bystander” is some person in the act of harassment, abuse, or violence – but is not one or the other in the perpetrator nor the victim.

Marcel Ray Duriez Health and Wellness The movie saying thanks for being fat, to all Americans. And that it’s not something that we should be proud of. It said in a strong way that we as a population needs to stop killing our safes. I find it fascinating that the male person in the video needs to consult phishing before completing the eating task at McDonald’s. Most people eat at fast-food restaurants 4-7 days a week, this is appalling. The advertisement draws kids in at a young age, the play place is good but not when they’re going to eat Big-Mack’s and large fries. Just in the last 20 years, obesity has going up high than ever in the past. “The world is not going to change you need to change”.

“The Torture Myth” (Applebaum CLS 2010-11 MAC Cresson PA) RR 3 Anne Applebaum “The Torture Myth” is stating method and theories of why and the practices of torture that may work or will not work. She has members of the Air Force and other members of the Military implement their thoughts into her views, either way, there are saying that not just Americans are killed, tortured just for information that they may or may not have. "Virtues Versus Values" RR 2 George Will (2010-11 MAC Cresson PA) George Will is seeking on Virtues Versus Values he is saying that values are a way to show and have self-esteem. And values show a form of friendship, what is good and what is evil. his focus is to have virtues back into the U.S Coulter mostly in the colleges. values never change have with faith, our whom we look up to.

Marcel Ray Duriez CLS/Liturgy 1/26/11 RR4 Made to do this do you think that is right? “A Gathering to worship & My Thoughts” The Liturgy at Mount Aloysius is a custom to make all new students have the experience of welcoming to the campus and through faith. Coming from a Protestant upbringing I thought some of the pursuers to be over-elaborate and lengthy but enjoyable, I also attended the Liturgy in the 2010 semester located in the gymnasium, this Liturgy in the chapel was more comfortable in population, lighting, temperature, and overall sound quality. Musically the performers are amazingly gifted; this applies to both Liturgies. This is my opinion there only need to be two songs one at the beginning and the other and the concussion of the service. The Pastor spoke words of inspiration that were received throughout the sanctuary, but this as well could be shortened to just a blessing. Opening prayer reading from Psalms is summery to flow the light, and that well show the way, also to your heart and your dreams. To conclude the Liturgy’s are pleasant but should not be mandatory manly because no one desires to have a non-familiar form of worship crammed down their throat. Their needs are improved in the way that the college has their students interact. Most students selected Mount Aloysius because it’s a small cozy college and that the staff and student populating’s, would have respect for each-other this wonderful quality about this college is fading away. I have seen this happen just in the last year, stop trying to be like IUP and growing so rapidly for you are losing the values of mercy and hospitality that most important also need is compassion to all those that are a part of the Mount Aloysius community. Class cancellation whether assignment 1. ½ service shoved of me ants driveway 2. ½ service shoved of my grandmother sidewalks and driveway 3. Look at the Sisters of Marcy web page that gave away $500 of plant life, just for detestable as of now! I had six hours is in this pointless class in cadd and graphic print work, of blueprints, and more, MADE TO DO- slave labor, or not pass a 100 leave class that not even anything to speak of. BS! what do you say? work doing grading...? for a so-called teacher that could give a shit about us! BS!

Marcel Ray Duriez CLS 2/17/11 Teacher: McNelis, Richard Rodriguez, ”Blaxicans’ and Other Reinvented Americans” Mount Aloysius College, Cresson Pennsylvania, 2010-11. “Blaxicans’ and Other Reinvented Americans” Why do some people like to give nonsense categories to people of color or of non-white decent? Richard Rodriguez is the anther of an article titled “Blaxicans’ and Other Reinvented Americans”. What is stated in his article is how government and the working class give classifications to other Americans on how they look or if their immigrants. We all are past immigrants to the US, so why should we be given one size fits the category for different type’s immigrants. The U.S is an English speaking country, that is stuck is in old fashion thinking, most of the time naïve to others and their new ideas. We do not like to change the normalcy of everyday ways or what we have learned to think about others. This article speaks on how the term “Hispanic” is nothing but a made-up word, and that the US requires an improved system of classifying its citizens.

There is no less appalling horror than having the youth of America slandering other students. This is the act that is known as bullying. Bullying in schools is not a new issue it’s just been ignored. And this can lead to many students being branded witch leads the victims to become scarred that they are depressed which can lead to the act of death. Depression is a disorder that involves feelings of sadness lasting for two weeks or longer, often accompanied by a loss of interest in life, hopelessness, and decreased energy. Such distressing feelings can affect one's ability to perform the usual tasks and activities of daily living What is bullying “face to face bullying” is someone that is harassing a person. And this occurs often with the same victim or students. In most school in my upon they use what I call “pass the buck” senior where the victim is the one that is seen by the higher authorities retaliating back at the bullies, in the most incident are the victim is the one that gets the punishment because the authorities of the school think that the student has to do something to provoke the bullies, and the bullies are let go to choose another individual to harass. What makes a student want to become a bully, in most it’s so they feel that they have power over someone weaker than them. Just in the last year “160,000 children did not attend school because they have been attacks in school and the school buses. One out of seven kids our victim, 85% of girls 76% of boys has been sexually harassing And 75% have reported abuse.

Marcel Ray Duriez CLS (Reflection) 2/11/11 1 Teacher: McNelis “Overview of Classes” “Cultural Literacy” is a mandatory class that all Mount Aloysius Students have to tolerate. It was designed to help students to achieve their goals, not to discharge them. Class 1/1/11 meeting instructor “McNelis, “asked questions about our thoughts for example Mount Aloysius college campus. I expressed my thoughts in class as well did the other students. Most MAC students say that this class should not be required and “I agree with their statements”. In that we choose this college because of Marcy values, it should be are chose to learn more about history and not be forced. Yes, I think it’s good to help out other people, but there is a limit. The hour needs for commuters should be lessened because they do not have the same opportunities as dose the MAC students that stay on campus. Teacher: McNelis 2/15/11 “Class overview” The “Road Map to Success” 2/10/11 guest speaker from the MAC career deportment. • Academic • Career service’s • Activities Speaker spoke on how one can have successes at the mount. And how they have career testing that will help with what career fits your personality. Career workstation I think this is excellent, that you can have the chances to have a mock interview and no that after obtaining your dredge you are ready for the everyday working experiences. Overall the guest was very clear and helpful, I enjoy all that she had to say. And that there needs to be more staff like her to help the students to be successful. pointless is it not? In Applebaum’s article members of the Military and Air Force had the opportunity to express their opinions, to the anthers views. Marcel Ray Duriez En 345.01 Children's Literature Spring, 2011 What is Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder or ADHD, and how does it affect children's devilment. In this document I have organized information, children's book; that would appeal to their interest. The first book that I reviewed was "Pay Attention Slosh" by Mark Smith the Illustrator is Gail Piazza, The story in-tells about a boy named Joshua and the fact that he would not stay still. and when his mother would say behave he would just roll his eyes. and go one like nothing was said, and then Josh's mom and dad would yell and send him to his room, Josh did not see why that he was getting into so much trouble. he had issue whit everyday day things like forgetting to do homework and not brushing his teeth at night, his teacher thought that he was just a "lazy slacker" they did know what he has ADHD. Josh enjoyed being with his friend but he could not stand the noises that they made, so have a hard time make friends it was not something he found easy to do. A student called hem Slosh and the nickname stuck with hem, Josh hated that name, along with school. So one day his parents took him to a doctor. And the doctor said that some children have attention issues that are called ADHD. Now with what is need to help can do to be more successful and like to learn This book is great for parents and kids because it shows just how far that we have come with medication and help for thoughts that have ADHD. The next book I chose is “Some Times I Drive my Mom Crazy, But I Know She’s Crazy About Me”, a book children’s for them to have more self-esteem by Lawrence E. Shapiro, Ph.D.

Hand drawing versus computer-aided drafting and design In hand drawing you start with a plan in your head and imagine what your composition will be. During this process as you brainstorming, you start sketching your illustration down onto a sheet of paper. You start building your sketch from that vision in which you have in your head. Blocking out all the many shapes that will become the image. You start adding layers, then darkening areas to bring out features that need to be emphasized. Depending on the type of illustration you're going for, and what medium you are using. You may want to apply color. Different types of contrast and values of light and dark, to help make your masterpiece dramatic. This is all part of being in the creative process. After you have your sketch is completed you may want to go back and fine or critique what has been created. Some artists or designers like to do another finalized rendering. In hand drawing, you have the freedom to put down on the paper whatever you want. You have total creativity on that campus. If you can create and envision your expression you can express it onto that piece of paper. Unlike using a computer where you are generally using programs like Photoshop to create a design. Photoshop is a tool in which some graphic designers for interior designers use in creating renderings. Using this program you virtually have any means of creation available to you that you could imagine. Versus hand drawing where you're limited to tolls that are available to you in computer-aided drafting and design, you have a program in which provides tolls and options and filters in which you can apply to your overall creation. What is also nice about using computer-aided drafting and design versus hand drawing is you have a do-over button, which will eliminate the one process that you put over your drawing. That is not available to you when your hand drawing. Quote “we do not make mistakes we have happy accidents” Bob Ross yes this is true to a certain state of matter but is very difficult to erase target lines that will detract from an illustration. Using computers in the design field you have options where you can take extra lights out of a hand drawing if you uploaded them into a program such as Photoshop. You could also draw by hand in a program like Photoshop using what is called a drawing tablet. A drawing tablet is a device in which one can use an electronic pen to draw onto the screen of a computer. It can be problematic in your beginning stages until you learn how to use the device. Unlike drawing where you just use a sheet of paper and a pencil, it is more basic and easier to apply your methods of design. Building a drawing using computer-aided drafting and design what you do is you start with a blank electronic sheet of paper. You select what is called the layers of a button. You begin to draw your design. What is nice about this is you can add more layers unlike a sheet of paper and pen drawing or you do not have that option. In adding these letters you apply more textures tones colors and contrast in light and dark values. In doing these many stages and processes it adds the illusion of depth. Unlike in hand drawing where you need to have an understanding of perspective. Perspective in hand drawing is achieved when you use a grid system of vanishing points. Using the grid system in Photoshop is more of a hassle mainly because you do not have the options of using rollers like you would in drafting. Also, a factor in handwriting is how much graphite you apply to make your light and dark contrast. As when you're using Photoshop for example all you have to do is push a button and it will determine light and dark contrast using different types of filters and layering. There are pros and cons to both methods of hand drawing and computer-aided drafting and design in both cases you have to have the ability to be artistic, although using Photoshop one that may not be so artistic can have the ability to make designs more easily. Mainly because it gives your ideas thoughts and processes that would be less overwhelming in your design creation. Unlike just having a sheet of paper and pencil you get the feeling of what do I create, how do I create, where do I begin, versus using a program like Photoshop, where you can use templates that are already created for you, to start your design developments of design. For both methods, you have to always remember to enjoy the creative process, and no matter if it is a successful design or a total failure you're still being creative.
