“Not many people can creatively utilize two talents.
Well, Marcel Ray Duriez is one such individual. He recently wrote, illustrated, and published a book entitled, “The Many Adventures of Cuddles,” which features Tobey, Pandora, and Cuddles.
“I wanted to acquire children’s interest in reading. I believe that Cuddles is a good way of accomplishing the task because she and her friends are interesting and child-appropriate. Kids well enjoy the journey that she well explores; therefore, they well comprehend what they are seeing and what they are reading thought the stories. I created the artwork to capture the many scenes in the stories. To draw the reader into the world in which Cuddles lives. I also wanted to give the characters their own personalities,” Duriez stated.

He has been creating artwork for many years, then one day he decided to add the stories, to the artwork. That is how he became an author and illustrator for children’s books. “I enjoy writing fiction… one of the awesome things about being an artist is that you can envision the characters and personalities before the drawing takes place. Knowing that the book that I created will bring joy to bliss to others is thrilling to me. I like to work towards achieving my dreams to “Strive for Perfection.”

Marcel Ray Duriez was born in 1991, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, and was raised in a small town of Northern Cambria, previously known as Barnesboro–Northern Cambria. His educational background is in the fields of fine arts in diverse media, English, engineering, and music.

Duriez has started writing the Nevaeh manuscript, a book about stopping bullying. He also wrote Sammie and Ellie, a cute story on the same lines as Cuddles is. Sammie and Ellie is a very good book for kids. Duriez has been a teacher for years, and he read this one to the class. This is good for teaching kids how to be responsible, generous, and sociable. The story is not bad at all, somewhat chatty for real young kids, but good overall and recommended for everyone. Teachers will love this. The artwork helps make the book fun and enjoyable for readers. A Panda Bear Named Mandy is one that you will also love. “I want to say I believe in new talents in writing, like the Nevaeh manuscript. We have chatted briefly about his work, and I would say he can go for his dreams. I did. If I must give an opinion, I feel he can do it,” says Lauren Oliver, writer of Rooms and Before I Fall.
