55,479 and Counting: The Journey of an Independent Artist
By Marcel Ray Duriez
Every milestone tells a story. For me, this one represents years of creativity, experimentation, persistence, and a commitment to putting my work into the world.
I'm proud to share that my reported activity across SoundClick/ZingChart and the Internet Archive has reached a combined 55,479 views and interactions, based on my latest platform statistics.
My music project, Longest Digital Album, represents an ambitious undertaking: building a catalog that spans original compositions, instrumental recordings, jazz, trumpet performances, covers, experimental sounds, and much more.
The journey has also brought encouraging chart placements. My track At the Front Desk currently sits at #90 on the main chart and #14 on its subgenre chart. Across my catalog, 110 songs have recorded historical chart peak positions, including DURIEZ ALBUM 23, which reached #2 in its subgenre chart.
But numbers tell only part of the story.
Independent music is about continuing to create even when the path isn't easy. It's about taking ideas that exist in your mind and turning them into something other people can discover, hear, and experience. It's about building something that lasts beyond a single release.
Every view, download, listen, and discovery is an opportunity for someone to encounter my work.
I'm grateful for every person who has taken the time to explore my music and creative projects. Whether you've listened to one track or explored the larger catalog, thank you for being part of this journey.
The goal isn't simply to reach a number. It's to keep creating, keep improving, and keep building.
And this is only another milestone along the way.
